Understand Your Saboteurs
Back in art school in 1998, I used to drive around in my VW bus with a handheld tape recorder, venting my frustrations by recording myself cussing out my dad. It was my way of dealing with anger and pressure through creative expression.
I realized I couldn't always blame him for my challenges, but I didn't know how else to cope. Over time, I learned to manage my emotions with subtlety and now, I help others do the same, working as a Positive Intelligence coach.
Knowing yourself is crucial. It’s important to understand how your thoughts influence your life. Thinking onto itself isn't inherently good or bad, but if you don't examine the internal characters you are listening to, you risk being controlled by destructive saboteurs. We all have them, we just don’t want them to live there rent free.
Positive Intelligence is a coaching framework that starts by identify which saboteurs are living rent free in your head. Personally, mine are the Pleaser and the Avoider. If I’m agreeing with others just to be nice, or struggling with commitments, I know why.
Breaking free of saboteurs is pretty simple. But it can’t be done if you don’t catch them first! Here’s a free assessment to identify and begin catching your saboteur characters. https://assessment.positiveintelligence.com/saboteur/overview
If you take the saboteur assessment, I'll personally guide you in creatively disarming yours. Let's schedule a chat here
